make your own snowdrops and paper wreath

Online course held on 27th January 2021

“Snowflakes gathered in his palm, hexagonal wonders, showing no sign of thawing there. Bringing them closer to his mouth, he breathed a sigh over their perfection. As the crystals were touched by the angels breath, each turned to a three petalled flower white as the snowflake that had birthed it. Each drooped its head, hiding the touch of fresh, soft green at its heart.”
A Christian Creation tale, Author unknown

‘Be the light in the darkness’, the theme of this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day. I rewatched the BBC adaptation of ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ this afternoon whilst making snowdrops, a symbol of hope, from @twobytwocreators event last week. Anne Frank wrote ‘In the long run, the sharpest weapon of all is a kind and gentle spirit. Where there’s hope, there’s life. It fills us with fresh courage and makes us strong again. Whoever is happy will make others happy.’ We have much to be grateful for but we must never forget the terrible atrocities that those who went before us went through.
